Primary conservatorship generally means the parent who has the child in their custody and control more often than not or in their possession. It is something of a misnomer because in most cases, neither parent is considered primary or better or superior to the other parent. The law is simply not designed to do that, so I often say the concept of primary conservatorship is a misnomer. But for most folks, if you are seeking primary conservatorship of your child, you generally want two things – a majority of the time with that child as well as the ability to decide where that child goes to school.
