When should I hire an attorney for my divorce?

I think that you should be talking to a divorce attorney well before you ever want to start that process. It doesn’t hurt to get information. And sometimes, family law is counterintuitive. That means that sometimes, what you think is a good idea in family law, actually turns out to be a bad idea. And the person that knows that is an attorney. So the earlier you can get talking to an attorney and give them information about what your goals are, the higher likelihood that you can set yourself up for success when it comes time to file for divorce. Sometimes you can’t help it, and you need to act fast. But if you have the time to be able to meet with an attorney well before you do anything about it, that’s always a great idea.
