Does your firm offer free consultations?

Posted on October 27, 2020 by Chris Kirker

My firm offers free consultations over the phone. And the reason for that is that I think everybody deserves to get their immediate questions answered. I like to put attorneys on the phone with people calling my office as soon as we can, maybe even in the same moment that they call, if that’s possible. And that phone call is free. If you like the answers given, and if you have a curiosity about the next steps, then we offer people the ability to come in and have an hourly consult, to sit across the table with our attorneys, to sit across the table from me, and make sure that it’s a good fit, and to get even more information. And that is at the attorney’s hourly rate. But the great thing about those hourly consultations is that usually, the attorney is able to find more value in that hour than what their hourly rate is. And so sometimes that hourly consultation is all that you need. And if that’s the case, then that’s great news. If you still want to move the relationship forward and talk about starting a divorce, then that hourly consultation can turn into an initial client meeting where you and the attorney sign a contract and talk about making steps and preparing your case for the next level.
