Can Fathers get primary custody of children?

Dads can get primary custody of their children. We often hear dads call in that say, ‘I’m told that I’ve got no shot simply because I’m a dad.’ And that’s just not the case. In fact, Texas law says that the courts cannot favor one gender over the other, meaning courts are prohibited from favoring moms versus dads. And therefore, the courts are not going to prejudge your case, and simply because you’re a dad, decide that you’re going to get less time with your children. And in fact, it’s our experience that fathers who are heavily involved with their children and do have a meaningful relationship with their children and a meaningful amount of time and possession of their children after divorce.
