About Stephen W. Payne

A significant portion of Stephen’s litigation practice includes the representation of high-net-worth individuals and professionals, in addition to cases involving business interests. Stephen is well-versed in cases necessitating business valuations, asset tracing, forensic accounting, and custody evaluations, among other aspects.

Stephen has represented clients with diligence and professionalism since beginning his legal practice in 2012. He seeks to tailor his representation to each client’s individual and unique needs. Stephen is keenly aware that families often benefit from resolving their cases outside of the courtroom and skillfully advises clients in settlement negotiations, alternative dispute resolution, and mediation to help them achieve desired goals for their family and their future. At the same time, he does not hesitate to advise clients when he believes that going to trial will offer the best opportunity to obtain favorable results.

Before joining Kirker Davis LLP, Stephen worked as a divorce attorney at reputable law firms in Washington, D.C. and Virginia, earned a B.A. at the University of Florida, summa cum laude, and earned a J.D. at the University of Miami.
