Marianne relocated to Austin and brings with her a wealth of family law experience. She began her legal career in San Diego, CA as civil healthcare and business litigator. Marianne successfully litigated numerous jury trials and administrative law matters during her early career. Marianne’s experience as a civil and business litigator has provided her with the necessary expertise to understand and successfully resolve complex financial and emotional issues present in family law cases. For the past fifteen years, Marianne’s family law experience included handling some of the highest asset cases in San Diego County.
Marianne received her Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition and dietetics from Villa Maria College. She worked as a Commissioned Officer with the US Public Health Service. Marianne attended California Western School of Law in San Diego, CA and earned her Juris Doctorate. Marianne was Certified as a Specialist in Family Law by the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization. Marianne was admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of the State of California; United States District Court, Central District of California; and United States District Court, Southern District of California. Marianne was a member of the State Bar of California; San Diego County Bar Association; San Diego Family Bar Association; San Diego County Bar Association, Legal Ethics Committee; San Diego Inns of Court; American Inns of Court, Louis M. Welsh Chapter; Association of Business and Trial Lawyers; Lawyers Club, Board of Directors; and served as a Superior Court, Judge Pro Tem for the Family Division. Marianne was admitted to the State Bar of Texas in September 2019. Marianne has received the Martindale-Hubbell* Rating of AV Preeminent since 2005. She was named since 2014 by San Diego Magazine as one of San Diego’s Top Lawyers (Family Law). Marianne was the recipient of the 2017 Tribute to Women in Industry & Industry (TWIN) award. In 2018, Marianne was the recipient of the 2018 Influential Women in Business award.
Marianne recently joined Kirker Davis to continue to practice high-asset complex family law litigation. While she worked in three of San Diego’s largest law firms, Marianne understands the importance of small firm attention to client needs. Marianne recognizes the emotional and financial toll a divorce can generate and is skillfully able to guide her clients to resolution through a well-thought out strategic plan. Marianne’s ten years of experience serving as a Superior Court Judge Pro Tem for settlement in family law matters allows her clients to explore creative and rewarding settlement options.
